Who are HeadBox and what do you do?
HeadBox is an online market place for creative, inspiring and offsite spaces that links our guests (corporate and SME bookers) directly with our hosts (owners of those spaces) that cuts out the middle-man. This allows guests to search, book and pay in an easy and seamless way solving many of the current pain points when it comes to booking spaces/venues for a work related event.
How can a business benefit from your services?
Businesses can instantly search, book and pay for over 2000 Spaces in London saving them time and energy when planning an event. Our streamlined payment process means that Guests can pay in full rather than make multiple payments for one event Space over multiple stages. The website also replaces the need for contracts; has additional T&Cs covered off and generates invoices for both the Host and Guest automatically so it’s goodbye paper and endless trips to the printer and photocopier! We are unlocking lots of under-utilised spaces that are currently not available to rent creating an enormous on-line market place where one did not exist before; this is already creating a range of new, lower price points for guests with much more choice available to them, making unique Spaces more accessible to smaller businesses.
Tips for running a really great event
Communication is key. Make sure you leave plenty of time between sending out the initial invitations to your Guests and send them multiple reminders to minimise the drop out rate. Plans will change so make sure you update your Space when your guest list fluctuates so they can make the necessary arrangements.
Give clear instructions. When working with suppliers make sure you give them a very clear and concise brief. Face to face meetings are always best for this so try where you can to meet with your caterers, production team and any entertainment before the event itself. Be honest with your feedback; if you would like something changed give your supplier enough time to make the changes you need.
Stay organised. This is sometimes quite tricky but events run more smoothly when you stick to a running order. The more structure the event has the better it will be for your team and your Guests. Make sure that you delegate tasks to your team too so that you’re not overwhelmed throughout and you have time to enjoy it yourself.
Be prepared to improvise. There will undoubtably be times where things don’t go completely to plan during the event, but don’t panic and stay focussed. Usually you’ll find a solution with the help of the team around you.
One tip you would give anyone starting a business
Focus is key when starting any new business. Take time to draw up a business plan before you start and ensure that you have clear goals you can stick to. Be prepared to re-focus from time to time as sometimes new opportunities will arise that you may not have considered. Always consolidate this so that you and your team are aligned to achieving the most important targets.
