What is Start, Scale, Grow?

The Start, Scale, Grow programme is designed to give owners of start-ups and small businesses the knowledge, skills and confidence to scale and grow their businesses.

Delivered by Nwes on behalf of the London Growth Hub, the free programme of workshops and business mentoring uses expert advisors, practical tools and interactive learning. Our aim is to skill you up in the areas most likely to supercharge growth for your business, such as business modelling, financial planning and marketing.

Who is the programme for?

The Start, Scale, Grow programme is for you if:

  • You are just embarking on your entrepreneurial adventure and need to learn the key skills required to build a successful business
  • Own an established business, but want to know how to drive growth and build resilience into your organisation
  • Struggle with some of the common questions entrepreneurs face, such as ‘how do I stand out in a crowded market?’ or ‘why are we growing so slowly?’

Through mentoring and skills workshops, Start, Scale, Grow will help you take a fresh, holistic look at your business and give you the support you need to help your business flourish.

To accompany the programme, our range of six workshops led by industry experts cover the most important aspects of building a successful, sustainable business and are all free of charge to attend. Although optional, we highly recommend attending as many as you can.

The Business Model Canvas

Are you clear on how your business is structured, who the key stakeholders are and where your revenue streams lie? Whether you’re a start up looking to disrupt the market, or an established business looking for new revenue streams, this workshop is perfect for you.

Digital Marketing

This practical workshop will help you plan, execute and measure strategic digital marketing that will deliver real value to your business covering channels such as Search Marketing, Social Media and Email Marketing.

Financial Planning

This workshop provides a comprehensive understanding of how to plan and present your financial forecasts. You will be able to work on your own business projections, utilising our foolproof spreadsheet. You will leave prepared to present your forecasts in a totally professional way, giving you, and any third parties such as banks, or investors, a clear understanding of your projections.

Sales and presentations

This session offers a practical guide to effective selling and presenting. We will cover basic sales skills and techniques, and how to deliver a professional business presentation with impact.

Key Account Management

This workshop will cover the essential elements of an effective Key Account Management process, including understanding your customer, identifying growth opportunities and successful negotiation.


As a business owner, the chances are you spend hours fretting over how to solve a certain problem or build a particular skill you think you lack. Everyone feels like this, and the chances are that there is a business or individual on the table or in the office next to you who has had to overcome the same issues. The Skillshare is a peer-to-peer workshop where you can share your challenges, meet like-minded businesses, learn from their experiences and offer your knowledge and expertise to others to help them conquer their own obstacles.
